(If your user presets were saved to the same folder as ABSYNTH 5's factory content, you will be asked whether to over write the already converted factory files. The next dialog will inform you about the progress. Click Yes and select a new folder, or click No to convert the files in-place. A dialog will pop up, asking you if the converted files should be saved to a new loca tion. Select a folder containing the files to be converted and confirm with OK. Open the File menu from the software's menu bar. To batch-convert your user preset library manually: 1. If you did not let ABSYNTH 5 convert your user presets automatically on first start, you can batch-convert your user preset library from ABSYNTH 5's menu bar. For further compatibility questions, please refer to ↑5, FAQ. If howev er you save the project using this version of ABSYNTH 5, you can only open it with this ver sion (5.1) or higher.
Recalling the settings from an older version of ABSYNTH 5 is possible. When using ABSYNTH 5 as a plug-in, the plug-in settings are usually saved to the host/DAW project file.
The original ".ksd" files will stay available in their original folders. None of your older ".ksd" files will be lost. If you do not con vert your user presets at this time, you can convert them later on via the File menu in AB SYNTH 5 (see instructions in ↑3.1, Batch-Converting User Presets Manually and ↑3.2, Converting Single User Presets Manually). If you have saved your own user presets with a previous version of ABSYNTH 5, a dialog will pop up the first time you start ABSYNTH 5 and ask whether you want to convert these files. The new ".nabs" file format replaces the previous ".ksd" file format. New File Format Batch-Converting User Presets Manually ▪ The formerly separate products ABSYNTH SPECTRAL EXPANSION, and ABSYNTH Twilights are now part of the ABSYNTH 5 factory content. For more detailed infor mation, please read chapter ↑4, New Browser Structure. There are now four instead of the former five categories. ▪ The ABSYNTH 5 Database and the Browser have been restructured from the ground up. New content and newly saved content will from now on always be stored to the new content folder. The former /Native Instruments/Shared Content/Sounds/Absynth 5 folder will only be used for compatibility with older host sessions. ▪ The content folder has changed: ABSYNTH 5 Sound content is now stored under /Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Sounds. If you save a project using this version of ABSYNTH 5, it can only be recalled with this version (5.1) or newer. Any of your existing DAW projects with ABSYNTH 5 running as a plug-in will still load with the correct settings. For more detailed infor mation, please read chapter ↑3, New File Format. However, the original files will not be erased. It has been replaced with a new format that has the extension ".nabs." The first time you start ABSYNTH 5, older content will be converted to the new file format.
Absynth 5 manuals update#
The following changes were made in ABSYNTH 5.1: ▪ A new file format has been introduced with the update as ABSYNTH 5 no longer uses the ".ksd" file format.
